As a turnkey company, we are uniquely equipped to design, specify, and manage your project from concept to completion. Since 2009, we have dedicated ourselves to proving that hiring a design firm does not have to be stressful nor intimidating.

Owner & Principal
Jeff has been involved in the creative world for more than 20 years specializing in residential kitchens and baths as well as custom commercial casework. He will tell you the best part of his job is the amazing clients he has worked with through the years, many of them becoming close friends. He holds a BA from Taylor University. Jeff and his wife, Sarah, have four children and two cats (translation: no hobbies). Jeff’s interests include running, great music, working in his yard, epicurean dates with his wife, and family adventures.

Renee has managed different kinds of projects over the years, large and small, tangible and digital, but she feels most at home helping others transform their spaces to better support the way they live. Home renovation has been a central theme in her life. A midwestern native, Renee grew up in Ohio in a family of active DIYers. She is not afraid to get her hands dirty, and her home is in a constant state of change. In moments of downtime, you might find Renee watching a movie with her husband and two kids, wandering around a thrift shop, or, of course, drinking coffee and daydreaming about what she might tackle next.

Designer & Color Expert
Dawn has always had a passion for color theory and all things pretty. She remembers taking far too long analyzing which color golf ball to choose at the mini-golf park as a child. Although her golf career didn’t pan out, she did obtain a degree in interior design where she is able to work with colors, textures, and beautiful things every day. It was while studying abroad in Italy, when she fell in love with making old spaces new again without losing the charm and intricacy before her. When not designing spaces, you’ll find her dancing in her kitchen with her two kids or whipping up the latest healthy recipe for her family she found on Pinterest.

Designer & Director of Safety
Building his first treehouse at the age of eight, Cory has been interested in homes ever since. Many tents and treehouses later, Cory entered into the professional world of design working as a scenic designer in theater and a senior exhibit designer/art director in the museum and themed entertainment industry. Joining the SDG team has allowed Cory to channel his creative spirits back “home” for which he is thankful. Outside adventures and photography are interests of Cory’s, as well as spending time with his three children.

Marketing Director & Office Manager
Growing up in a home built and maintained by her parents, Kara spent much of her time in home improvement stores where she collected samples for her own interior design firm. At eight or nine, she had quite the business. However, once she realized she lacked any real design ability, she gravitated toward opportunities to work with creative people. Kara is blessed with two boys and spends her free time adventuring with them. She is also active in the Down syndrome community as her youngest is rockin’ an extra chromosome.

Draftsperson and Estimator
With a background in residential remodeling and a passion for helping neighbors, Fran’s role at SDG is a perfect fit. Stop by the office and you’ll find him preparing drawings for our clients & subcontractors, coordinating with local vendors, and assisting the team with everyday tasks. Although, if you don’t see him at his desk and you’ve already checked the coffee maker, he’s likely on-site assisting with project management. At home and on the road, Fran enjoys new adventures with his wife, two daughters, and their dog, as well as competitive shooting, drone photography, and visiting with family & friends.
